The 2025 Japan International Exposition (Osaka-Kansai Expo), the first to be held in Japan in 20 years, is currently underway on Yumeshima in Konohana Ward, Osaka City, from April 13 to October 13, 2025, for a total of 184 days.
The term “Expo” carries the meaning of “Exposition of Nations,” and this international exposition, featuring participation from various countries, is truly a major event drawing global attention.

Here are some of the projects TYO has worked on for that major stage.

vol.1　Opening Ceremony Performance Program: “Relay of Life”

TYO PRO2 participated in the production of the video for the performance program “Relay of Life,” which opened the Opening Ceremony held on April 13, 2025.

This program is the projection mapping content displayed on the venue walls at the opening ceremony’s commencement. The Expo’s theme is “Designing a Future Society Where Life Shines.” The opening video begins with the birth of the Expo’s official character, Myaku Myaku, and unfolds at a dizzying pace, weaving together diverse creatures, cultures, and technologies. Within the montage of numerous motifs, the composition—incorporating live-action footage, 2D animation, and collage imagery—was crafted to make the “life” of each motif shine, creating a festive atmosphere characteristic of the “Osaka Expo.”

vol.2　DO the XR

TYO-produced “DO the XR” held an event on May 6, 2025, at the Pop-up Stage West of the Osaka-Kansai Expo. “DO the XR,” a project bringing together globally active artists and performers focused on R&D for spatial computing, captured performances by five cross-genre acts using XR technology in 360-degree footage. This content allows participants to enjoy the performances from any angle on their devices, offering a free viewing experience.
