The evolution of generative AI technology has significantly expanded expressive techniques in video production. Globally, the creation and release of AI-powered video works and short films are increasing, gaining attention as a new frontier for creativity. While these tools can be utilized by everyone from amateurs to veterans in video production, challenges such as copyright issues exist, requiring careful consideration for commercial use or release as artist works. Furthermore, while generative AI is sometimes discussed as a means of cost reduction, the reality is that producing high-quality video content requires considerable ingenuity and production time.
TYO has planned this project to utilize generative AI as a creative tool that expands the possibilities of visual expression. By leveraging TYO’s expertise in production, this project aims to extend creative potential and present new value in advertising expression.
TYO is also focusing on advertising video production and creative works utilizing generative AI technology. As a leading company in the video production industry, we have consistently been quick to adopt new technologies, adapting to the changing times while pursuing higher quality in visual expression. We have also launched an in-house project team to research the creative potential of generative AI video.
Furthermore, TYO has sponsored the “NFFT Project,” an AI-generated art exhibition event organized by Miho Kinomura, a globally active creative director based in LA who is also an AI Filmmaker, since its inception in 2022. TYO drive producer Tadashi Mazuki participates as an executive committee member. Furthermore, in October 2023, as AI chat services emerged and the evolution of AI image generation technology and its application in advertising began gaining attention, TYO collaborated with Studio DOG LLC, led by Ms. Kinomura, to produce PARCO’s Christmas season advertising campaign “HAPPY HOLIDAYS.” This campaign utilized image generation AI to create fashion advertisements. In 2024, we entered into a business partnership agreement with the same studio, aiming to contribute to the development of the advertising industry by creating new value in advertising through the use of generative AI technology.
This project will be released on the official TOKYO STORIES YouTube channel and is also scheduled for submission to film awards.
Additionally, an event will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the BCBC event space within THE COFFEE BREW CLUB on the 3rd floor of Tokyu Plaza Harajuku Harakado. The event will feature screenings of the works and talk sessions with participating creators. Participation methods and details will be announced on TOKYO STORIES’ official SNS as soon as they are finalized.
Through this initiative, TYO will explore the potential of visual expression utilizing generative AI and communicate new approaches to creativity in advertising video production.
