On Saturday, October 10, and Sunday, October 11, events featuring “TOKYO STORIES” and “XR Magic Orchestra” will be held at OPENBASE SHIBUYA.
TYO has had two of its projects—the AI short film project “TOKYO STORIES” and the new XR immersive music experience “XR Magic Orchestra”—selected for the partner program of “ARTE TOKYO (Tokyo International Festival of Culture and the Arts),” a new cultural and arts festival organized by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo International Festival of Culture and the Arts Executive Committee. The company will host an event at OPENBASE SHIBUYA on Saturday, October 10, 2026, and 11 (Sun) at OPENBASE SHIBUYA.

TOKYO STORIES is an AI short film project in which TYO—whose company name incorporates the city code for “Tokyo”—produces original AI short films centered on Tokyo, collaborating with creators from Japan and abroad to depict the city from diverse perspectives and release the resulting works. TYO views generative AI not merely as a tool for efficiency, but as a new means to expand the possibilities of creativity in visual expression. As part of this exploration, the company planned this project and released 14 works on its official YouTube channel as the first installment.
In addition to winning awards at the WORLD AI FILM FESTIVAL (WAIFF), the project is gaining recognition, having been selected as a standalone program at “Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia (SSFF & ASIA) 2026”—one of Asia’s largest international short film festivals and an official selection of the Academy Awards—as well as at the Seattle AI Film Festival (SAIFF 2026).
At ARTE TOKYO, we plan to screen the latest AI films and host talk shows featuring participating creators.

XR Magic Orchestra is a new program offering an immersive musical experience through XR. Based on the concept of “Moving from listening to music to experiencing it,” four artists will present an unprecedented musical performance that invites the audience to move their perspective, participate, and experience the music firsthand. Led by TYO drive producer Tadashi Umazume, this project is being developed as R&D (research and development) focused on spatial computing.
“XR Magic Orchestra” was selected through an open call for collaborative programs for “DIG SHIBUYA 2026,” held from February 13 to 15, 2026, in the area centered around Shibuya Park Avenue in Tokyo, and many visitors experienced it at the public event.
On ARTE TOKYO, you can also enjoy the performance—filmed in 360 degrees—from any angle and with a free viewpoint on your own device.

ARTE TOKYO is a festival that brings together a diverse array of programs—including art, theater, music, light displays, and entertainment—held throughout Tokyo, showcasing the brilliance of each individual event as part of the city’s overall charm. For its inaugural edition in 2026, the festival will feature the Waterfront Area, the Hibiya-Marunouchi Area, and the Yoyogi-Shibuya Area as its core zones, presenting numerous art and entertainment initiatives, including a revival of the Tokyo 2020 Cultural Program.
